Dodge County Fair Association announced the grandstand acts that will perform during the fair Aug. 17 to 21, 2011.

Leading the way Wednesday will be Rodney Atkins. On Thursday, Luke Bryan will take the stage. The tradition of having a rock band on Friday will continue with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. No act has been booked yet for Saturday. The popular demolition derbies will be held twice on Sunday.

It also was announced Saturday at the Fair Association’s annual meeting that ticket prices will remain the same in 2011. Season tickets will be $25 in advance and daily admission will be $6 before 2 p.m. and $10 after 2 p.m. There is no additional charge for parking or entry to the grandstand.

The fair board also announced that it would continue the policy of issuing wristbands for those who want to drink alcohol. The wristbands will cost $1 and the money raised will be given to charities.

Organizations that received money from the sale of wristbands in 2010 were Shop with Cops, Moraine Park Tech Corrections Club, Dodge County Emergency Response Team, Dodge County Sheriff’s Dept. Explorers, Badger Honor Flight and the Wisconsin State Troopers Association.

Grants from Dodge County Farm Technology Days in 2009 will again have an effect on the fairgrounds in 2011. In 2010, a grant plus additional donations allowed the fair association to build new restrooms adjacent to the grandstand.

This year, there are plans to build a new horse arena, remodel the Co-op Building, make interior improvements in the Youth Building and build a new Small Animals Building.

Race dates were announced and include April 16, April 23, Aug. 5, Sept. 2 and Oct 1 for IRA Races and July 1 for the Thiel Memorial Race.
