The smell of yummy fried food will fill the air as the Dodge County Fair starts this morning at 8am just 3 miles East of Beaver Dam, WI. Judging of foods, exhibits and other entries starts at 9am in the open class exhibit building and other locations throughout the grounds.  To celebrate a busy day at the Fair see Montgomery Gentry perform on the Grandstand Stage at 8pm.

This is the big day Exhibitors have been preparing for all summer, judging day and awards!  The pride and satisfaction seeing their work on display and the recognition that they have successfully completed their project. Here’s the schedules for both; Open Class Judging and Junior Fair Judging.

An interactive and educational game about the business of agriculture, the Commodity Carnival teaches young fair goers how to manage the costs and risks associated with bringing an animal – this year, a hog – to market. Beyond the fairgrounds and throughout the year, the Commodity Carnival. Look for the Commodity Carnival at the north end of the Swine Barn along with other interactive learning stations. Youth and adults will be able to gain agricultural knowledge by participating in a variety of activities that will encourage hunger for more!

Enjoy the many Family FREE shows throughout the grounds starting with Pig Races at 2pm, Kandu Magic Show at 3pm and the educational Wild World of Animals show at 3:30pm. Show times continue throughout all five days of the Fair.

Be ready at 3pm because it’s Wristband Day on the Midway! Purchase a wristband and ride as many rides as you can from 3 to 9pm. Four local women are running for the title of 2016 Dodge County Fairest of the Fair. Starting at 5pm on the WTKM Stage, watch the final interviews and the crowning of the Dodge County Fairest of the Fair.

Learn some tips and tricks during the Brenda Murphy Idea Exchange 1 to 4pm with demonstrations from; Dodge County Pork Producers, Wisconsin Beef Council, Dodge County Dairy Promotion and Chef Chanse. Then it’s fun and games from 5 to 7pm in the WXRO Bash featuring a reverse raffle and an all over the road obstacle course.

Montgomery Gentry kicks off the big name entertainment on the Grandstand Stage presented by 95.3 FM WXRO at 8pm. All seats are FREE with paid admission to the Fair and are available on a first come, first serve basis. You can sit on the track in your lawn chair or on the bleachers in the grandstands. After the concert, enjoy music at WXRO WBEV Radio Park by The Madpolecats from Madison, WI. This family band has an arsenal of instruments, and is made of musicians who have played together at roadhouse bars, churches, music festivals, concert halls, fund raising events, benefits, weddings, wakes, and some of the best street corners in Wisconsin.
