Friday at the County Fair

Wristband Day on the Midway, Cream Puff Eating Contest and Bret Michaels live in concert on the Grandstand Stage just a few of the many events scheduled on the third day of the Dodge County Fair.  Use our online schedule below to plan out your affordable family entertainment day at the Fair.

Stop to smell the flowers, participating 4-H clubs and FFA chapters were given a large planter to design and plant how they desire, keep in their community, and then bring to the Dodge County Fair. The planters will be judged and placed around the Fairgrounds for everyone to enjoy. Sponsored by; Brehm’s Wonder Creek Nursery, Ebert’s Greenhouse Village, and the Dodge County Fair Association.

The Kids Pedal Tractor Pull starts at 11:30am in front of the grandstand. The Fairest of the Fair will be awarding kids who can pedal the farthest when pulling the mini sled. Tractors are provided, registration and weigh-in starts at 11:15am.

Fill-up on fair food for lunch and be ready at 12:00 Noon because it’s Wristband Day on the Midway! Purchase a $25 wristband and ride as many rides as you can from Noon to 5pm. After wristband day on the midway head over to Radio Park for Healthy Kids Day featuring a variety of outdoor games for kids with fun and prizes. Hosts Cale Zomer and Lezli Young announce the action while members of the audience test their skill; musical chairs, potato sack races, bean bag toss, and many more. Win great prizes from local sponsors and get up and moving with fun outdoor games hosted by WXRO 95.3FM and WBEV 1430AM.

Starting at 5pm, get a seat for the 20th annual Celebrity Cream Puff Eating Contest. Uncle Bill will broadcast LIVE on WXRO 95.3 FM during the Barn Show as area celebrities compete against the clock.

Bret Michaels will fill the grandstands, pack the track area and have fans on their feet at 8pm! All seats and standing areas on the track are FREE with paid admission to the Fair. All areas are available on a first come, first serve basis. You can stand on the track or sit on the bleachers in the grandstands. After the concert, enjoy music in Radio Park and the Legion Tent. Listen to music by ALEXIS on the WBEV/WXRO Radio Park Stage.  Alexis continues to pound out classic rock gems from yesterday, last week Thursday, and the hard rockin’ ‘70’s. Request your favorite tunes in the Legion Bar with DJ Jeff Hall from 9 to 11:30pm sponsored by WXRO 95.3 FM and WBEV 1430 AM.

2016 Dodge County FairAll day

Four nights of concerts entertain country and rock fans on the grandstand stage plus food, fun and exhibits for the whole family. The music festival and county fair entertains over 52,000 fans a year and is the areas main event. Don’t forget to taste the great fair food, view the many exhibits and animals while learning, doing and just having a great time!

Junior Britches Showmanship Contest11:00 am – 12:00 pm

Youth entering grades 3-4 this school year show calves in the Junior Showmanship Contest. Judging will be based on proper showmanship techniques as demonstrated by the participant and how well the calf is trained. Organized by the Dodge County Dairy Youth Advisory Committee, the event was created to help promote interest in the Dairy Project.

WTKM Corn Crawl5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

The WTKM 104.9FM staff buries coins and prizes in shelled corn. Kids have 104.9 seconds to dig for coins, and they get to keep whatever they find!

Bret Michaels will rock the Dodge County Fair on Friday, August 19th at 8pm. An unstoppable showman, Bret has toured as a solo artist for 15 years, breaking attendance records at venues with sell out crowds. Bret’s touring schedule is one of the largest of any current artist.

The Dodge County Fair Association is a State of Wisconsin Corporation formed for the purpose of operating a fairgrounds, which is presently located four (4) miles east of the city of Beaver Dam on State Highway 33 on 40 acres of land, which the Corporation owns. The Association is an IRC (Internal Revenue Code) Sec. 501(c)(3) organization. Your tax deductible contributions are appreciated to maintain buildings and grounds.
