Eight vie for Fairest of Fair
By: Aaron Martin - Staff Reporter

The eight contestants vying for the Fairest of the Fair crown were interviewed by judges Sandra Budewitz, John Engels and Kimberly Schoessow, 2006 Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs. Each contestant also presented Bayside attendees with a promotional commercial for the fair aimed to draw people to the festivities Aug. 15 to 19.

Area residents are turning their attention to the summer's biggest event, the Dodge County Fair.

The Dodge County Fair Board hosted the first leg of the 2007 Fairest of the Fair Competition at Bayside Supper Club Monday night and also welcomed members of the media to discuss this year's festivities.

Fair-goers can expect some changes to the ticketing format this year. Season ticket holders will be asked to stop at the main office for a wristband when they wish to leave and re-enter the fair grounds.

The cost of a season ticket will be $25 before Aug. 15 ad $30 after that date. Daily admission is $6 before 2 p.m. and $9 after that time.

Wrist bands also will be required to purchase or drink alcohol in the 2007 fair season to reduce underage drinking.

Grandstand acts for the fair this year include: Joe Nichols on Aug. 15, Josh Turner on Aug. 16, Alice Cooper on Aug. 17, Josh Gracin on Aug. 18 and demolition derbies on Aug. 19.
