Forty-Two Vying for 2013 Wisconsin Fairest of the Fair

The 2013 Wisconsin Fairest of the Fair will be crowned during the Wisconsin Association of Fairs’ annual convention in Wisconsin Dells next month. Steffani Koch of Mayville, WI will represent the Dodge County Fair. According to program organizers, 42 students will compete for the title, in which the winner will travel the state next year as the ambassador and spokesperson for all the fairs of Wisconsin. The competition will be held January 6-9 at the Chula Vista Resort.

Koch, 21, is the daughter of Frank and Debra Koch. She is an alumna of Mayville FFA, and participated in the UWRF Dairy Club, Pre-vet Club and Chancellor’s Student Ambassadors.

Koch said the best way to get youth involved in their communities is to talk to them and find out what interests them.

“Youths will get involved if you find out what they are passionate about,” Koch said.
