Sunday at the County Fair

It’s the last day of the Fair, arrive early and make the rounds to see and eat all you can before it closes! If you attended previous days of the Fair bring someone new and give them a tour. Events start bright and early with the Pernat Haase Meats Four Wheel Drive Truck Pull at 9am in front of the grandstands.  Local and district pullers from the Badger State Truck Pullers Association coordinate bringing a few of the pros and super trucks while locals compete in street diesels.

Take a detour and go on the County Fair Scavenger Hunt. Answer the clue or riddle and it will lead you to the next exciting stop on your tour of the 4-H aspects of the Dodge County Fair. Complete the scavenger hunt list and return it to the 4-H Promotion Booth to receive a prize! When you’re in the Youth Building, don’t forget to participate in the fun activities at the 4-H Promotion Booth, go fishing for prizes at the 4-H Fish Pond, or check out the Silent Auction items.

Enjoy the many Family FREE shows throughout the grounds starting with Pig Races at 12 Noon, Kandu Magic Show at 1pm and the educational Wild World of Animals show at 1:30pm. Show times continue throughout the day, stop and enjoy while touring the Fair.

Oooh and Ahhh at the Demo Derby as cars, trucks and vans crash it out till the last one moving wins. The afternoon Demo Derby starts at 1pm on the track in front of the Grandstand. Afterwards, pit crews will be busy preparing for the main event at 6pm.

The Little Britches and Little Shepherds Showmanship Contests will make the crowd roar with laughter as kids grades 4K through 4th demonstrate their showmanship skills. Starting with the Little Britches in the Farm Progress Area at 1:30 pm, youngsters lead their May or June dairy calf in front of the Judge. At 3:30 pm stop by the Junior Livestock Barn to watch the Little Shepherds as they entertain and practice their skills showing sheep.

Fashion at the Fair? Admire the hard work of future designers and support area youth during the 4H Clothing Style Show on the Radio Park Stage at 4 pm.  Area youth display their clothing and fashion projects entered in the Junior Fair.

Fans will fill the grandstands for the evening Demolition Derby at 6pm. Cars, trucks and vans will fight it out in final events based on results from the afternoon derbies. Cheer them on with your final bites of fair food and favorite drinks.

2016 Dodge County FairAll day

Four nights of concerts entertain country and rock fans on the grandstand stage plus food, fun and exhibits for the whole family. The music festival and county fair entertains over 52,000 fans a year and is the areas main event. Don’t forget to taste the great fair food, view the many exhibits and animals while learning, doing and just having a great time!

Pernat Haase Meats 4WD Truck Pull9:00 am – 11:00 am

All four wheels spin as they pull the sled down the track during the annual Pernat Haase Meats Truck Pull at the Dodge County Fair. Locals compete with pullers from the Badger Truck Pullers Association and others throughout the state. The truck pull is FREE with paid admission to the Fair.

Little Flock Showmanship Contest10:00 am – 11:00 am

The Poultry Project is pleased to sponsor the Little Flock Showmanship Contest on Sunday in the Small Animal Building. To promote the interest and education of poultry, contestants will demonstrate their knowledge of proper showmanship information and handling techniques.

Dairy Youth Recognition Auction11:30 am – 12:30 pm

Youth exhibitors participating in the dairy project will again be recognized for their hard work at the Dodge County Dairy Youth Recognition Auction. The auction will be held on Sunday of the Dodge County Fair in the Farm Progress Arena.

Fans fill the grandstands at 1:00 pm for the first of two Demo Derbies on Sunday of the Dodge County Fair. Oooh and Ahhh as cars, trucks and vans crash it out to qualify for the evening main event. Cheer on local drivers in the grandstands at 1pm and 6pm.

Little Bunny Huddle Showmanship1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Take time to attend the Little Bunny Huddle Showmanship Contest in the Small Animal Building during the Dodge County Fair. Contestants demonstrate their showmanship abilities with face-to-face judging followed by distribution of participation ribbons.

WTKM Corn Crawl1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

The WTKM 104.9FM staff buries coins and prizes in shelled corn. Kids have 104.9 seconds to dig for coins, and they get to keep whatever they find!

Little Britches Showmanship Contest1:30 pm – 2:30 pm

The crowd will roar with laughter during the Little Britches Showmanship Contest on Sunday afternoon of the Dodge County Fair. The wild and fun-filled event is held in the Farm Progress Arena just North of the Open Class Exhibit building.

Little Shepherds Showmanship Contest3:30 pm – 4:30 pm

The Little Shepherds Showmanship Contest challenges youth to demonstrate their sheep showmanship abilities while practicing for future participation in the sheep project or just having some fun. The contest is open to anyone 4 years of age and older (up to grade 4).

Action Auto Demo Derby6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

The Main Event, the evening demo derby will pack the grandstands at 6pm. Crews and drivers work to make minor repairs and prepare throughout the infield pit area. Who will be the demo derby champion in the car, truck and van divisions?
