The first evening of the 2019 Dodge County Fair will feature three hours of non-stop entertainment when the Badger State Tractor Pullers (BSTP) feature approximately seventy-five competitors during the annual Badger State tractor pull. The exciting, three-hour event begins at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 14, the opening night of the Fair. BSTP is the premier pulling association in the State of Wisconsin and this will be the group’s third consecutive year holding the competition at the Fair in Beaver Dam. Many BSTP members are among the best competitors in the nation and this promises to be a thrilling event for seasoned and new “pull” fans — across two tracks.

If you have never attended a tractor pull, “pulling” is a thrilling competition to see which driver can pull the sled the farthest distance on a dirt track. The track is typically 300 feet in distance, with boundaries set on each side. Participants are disqualified if the line is touched. The event in Beaver Dam will showcase two of these tracks. After each attempt, the distance is measured and recorded. “Pull offs” take place when a participant travels beyond the 300 feet. Fans can cheer on their favorite competitors and vehicles from the stands and get quite competitive during the measurements and these “pull-offs”. Vehicles will push over 25 mph, pulling sleds weighing approximately 40,000 pounds. Tractors will top over 3000 HP and diesel trucks will be exceeding over 2000 HP on the track.

Contenders will feature various pro stock tractors and some of the top-running diesel trucks in the country.  Each class will include ten to twenty competitors from all over the Midwest.  Classes competing include Pro-stock Tractor (PST), Limited Prostock Tractor (LPST), 540 Light Pro Tractor (540LP), Super Farm (SF), Light Limited Super Stock Tractor (LLSS), Limited Pro Diesel Truck (LPDT).

Attend the tractor pull and make an entire day of it. Midway wristbands are available for $25/person from 1:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday. After enjoying the rides, families can watch the Wild World of Animals show and then the Pig, Duck and Goat races will take place prior to the tractor pull.

Fans should plan on arriving in the grandstands early for this popular event. Close to 4,000 spectators attend each year. This is a fun, free event for the entire family. Attendees may attend the tractor pull for free with paid gate admission to the Fair. BSTP will make every attempt to hold the event. However, no rain date will be scheduled.

Unique tractor pull and event merchandise will also be available throughout the grandstands.

Parking, the evening concert series, tractor pull and all other grandstand entertainment are always free with paid gate admission to the fair.  Attend the fair for only $5.40 per day with the purchase of a season ticket.  Daily gate admission is $7 before 12:00 pm; or $10 after 12:00 pm.  Children age nine and under are free.  Season tickets are only $27 in advance or $35 at the gate.
