Dairy Youth Recognition Auction

The Dodge County Dairy Youth participating in the dairy project will be recognized for their hard work at the Dodge County Dairy Youth Recognition Auction. This year’s auction will take place on Sunday at the Dodge County Fair in the Farm Progress Arena. The pre-sale luncheon will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by the auction at 11:30 a.m.

A maximum of 16 participants from the Dodge County Junior Dairy Show will be featured in the auction. To qualify, these youth must have placed first in at least one of the 15 classes at the Dodge County Fair. The 16th lot will be selected through a random drawing from all dairy youth exhibitors who have submitted an educational card with at least 7 points.

It is important to note that live animals will not be sold; instead, symbolic representations of the sale participants’ achievements will be offered.

All proceeds from the Dairy Youth Recognition Auction are carefully distributed to support as many 4-H, FFA, and junior breed organizations involved in the Dodge County Dairy Project as possible. Scholarships will also be awarded to post-high school students pursuing two or four-year degree programs. The recipients of this year’s scholarships will be announced at the Dodge County Fair, just prior to the auction.

The list of activities receiving financial support continues to grow each year and includes field trips, dairy grants for purchasing a dairy animal, educational literature, Junior State Fair exhibits, Dairy Judging, Badger Dairy Camp, and Dairy Bowl.

Anyone interested in supporting Dodge County Dairy Youth is encouraged to participate as a bidder at the Recognition Auction. Bidders will receive free gate admission for Sunday and a complimentary pre-auction lunch. Please RSVP to the Dodge County UW-Extension Office at 920-386-3790 to help us serve you better.
