Lights Fest will brighten up the Beaver Dam skyline on Saturday, September 2 with the release of hundreds of sky lanterns at the Dodge County Fairgrounds. Live music, food, and entertainment will bring families and friends together as they release personalized sky lanterns after sunset. Attendees will write memorials and declare goals on their lanterns, then light them with tiki torches before they take flight.

The event is scheduled from 3:00-9:00 pm and the lanterns will be released at dusk. Thousands of attendees are expected to participate. The Lights Fest is a multi-stop tour across the United States. This is the first time that the event is visiting the Dodge County area.

This experience is open to everyone and will bring the community together. However, reasons for releasing lanterns will be as different as the individuals themselves. Past participants have released lanterns to honor a lost loved one, to celebrate an accomplishment or to declare a dream. This unique movement allows everyone to participate, be in the moment, reflect and let their reason soar. Come with an idea, tell your story, and leave with direction, purpose, and inspiration.

Live music will include various genres and forms of musical entertainment, including local talent. Food carts will also be available, offering a variety of food for purchase.

This family-friendly event will also feature magicians, balloon artists, and dancers who will perform for the youngest of dreamers. Children will enjoy the complimentary sparkler dance party, which is scheduled before the lanterns are launched. Light-up toys and gear will also be available for purchase in the merchandise store. Families can look forward to merchandise giveaways throughout the evening.

Participants may pre-register online or at the event. Both cash and major credit cards will be accepted at the event. Parking for this event is free.

Attendees should consider bringing tangible items, such as chairs, blankets, and jackets as the sunsets.  But they should also arrive with an open heart, positive attitude and mindset. If you are looking for a fresh start, a change or a way to reflect – this event will change you.
